My question is for colored/black people. I go to school at Mohonasen High School and we are reading a book called ‘To Kill a Mokingbird’ and it is a very racial book. We have one colored/black person in our class who most everyone likes. When we have class discussions the word negro or nigger come up often. It says the word a lot in the book and our teacher stresses it a lot on how mean and nasty people were around the time period the book is happening. No my question is if you are a colored person sitting in class and your teacher and class mates are talking about the word nigger or negro or if your in social studies class talking about slavery and how hars it is, does it bother you at all? Do you take offence to it? How do you really fee?
