On todays NPR radio show, someone asked if certain Jewish people used a cloth with a hole in the center to place over the bride on her wedding night before consumating the marriage. I am Italian and can remember seeing one of these cloths as a child, & recently in the movie ‘Like hot water for chocolate’ one was very plainly placed over the bride with the opening being right over her vagina. So, I do know they exist and they may be a culturaly Latin thing. I would like to know more if you find out anything else. By the way, tomorrow I will hit Barnes & Noble to get your book. I love stuff like this! Thanks.
