I am of Hawaiian, Portugese,English, and French Canadian nationalities. I grew up in Calif. where most of my friends were Aferican American,American Indian, or Hispanic. I was always refered to as one of these different races. It never bothered me because at the time I identified with these ethenic groups. Now that I live in the Islands which is a ‘melting pot’ of nationalities, I still don’t mind being called ‘what ever’. I have learned much about my ‘primary’ nationality and I am proud to be ‘ Hawaiian ‘, but mostly I’m proud to be an ‘American’ Mahalo
