AmberWParticipantThe biggest type of racism that I hear bout nowadays is racial steering in housing. There are so many accounts I have heard from Blacks that have been told by white realtors that there were no houses available in certain areas, only to find that some of their “future-homeowning” white associates looked at houses in the same area around the same time. Many Blacks, although they can well afford it and are professionals, are frequently “steered” toward certain neighborhoods and areas, usually those that do not have as large populations of professional, middle-class whites. White people in this country have no idea how prevalent this is, mostly because they are rarely affected by it, and just assume that there are no or little Black people in their neighborhoods because the Blacks simply cant
