My fiance is Puerto Rican, and I’ve noticed how much importance their culture’s music and dancing is to him and his family. Is it just his family, or is it the whole Puerto Rican culture?

I don’t belive it’s just his family nor just Puerto Ricans. As a Hispanic myself(Mexican), I’ve noticed that many of us Hispanics/Latinos have a lot of pride of our countries and cultures. And dancing to merengue and salsa is a big-o part of our culture. Mostly a lot of Latinos know how to dance and move it right because we’ve been taught since we were little because of all the pride that we have from our culture.

I am Puerto Rican and have been raised with very traditional Puerto Rican cultural values and music is definatly part of that. Music and Dancing are the ultimate forms of expression. There are many emotions attached to that such as happiness and celebration to romance and passion. Keeping our traditions alive by teaching younger generations our typical folkloric music is very important but also Salsa and the newly emerged Reggaeton are also respected. Music is a way for eveyone to connect and have a good time. Que Viva Puerto Rico!
