I am studying the Spanish language currently, and like to practice as much as I can. When I go to Mexican restaurants, I often think of ordering in Spanish, but worry I’d make a fool of myself. Do waiters who speak Spanish natively find customers ordering in Spanish patronizing, offensive, or do not care one way or another? I realize that not everyone who works in a Mexican restaurant necessarily speaks Spanish, anyway.
