Brian-TParticipantIt seems to me that many Jewish people are in positions of financial and/or political power in the world. For example, it’s my understanding that the diamond industry is nearly entirely Jewish-owned, as well as the movie/production industry, etc. If this is true, why is there such a perception that Jews are persecuted to this day? How can they occupy what seem to be so many influential positions (disproportionate to their demographic) and yet be persecuted at the same time?

NedParticipantOther than Israel, name another country with a Jewish leader. And how many Jewish Presidents or Vice Presidents have there been? What percentage of congressmen and senators are Jewish? As far as the diamond industry, it has a lot of Jewish owners because during World War II it was the easiest way to carry wealth with them. Those are the ones who could get away – not the 6 million who were killed. The Argyle mine, the largest in the world, is not owned by Jews. As far as the movie industry, to the best of my knowledge it is not owned primarily by Jews. There is Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, etc.
You are citing only a few examples. What about the auto industry, oil, newspapers, the networks, NFL owners, NBA, NHL, MLB and on and on? Ever heard the term ‘Jewed down?’ Is it any nicer than the N-word? Ever move to a neighborhood where you were shunned for having different religious beliefs? Look at the Forbes 500 Richest People: Gates, Hammer and Buffett. Look a long way down the list and you might find someone Jewish. If the Jewish population is, say, 10 percent of the U.S. population, do Jews own 10 percent of the networks, banks, newspapers and other businesses?
