IlariaMemberWhy do old people smell like cabbages? I think it has something to do with chemical breakdown – anyone know?

Radio StaffMemberThis has long puzzled us as well… Some of our theories include: Unique Diet that affect metabolic equilibrium of the old. Frequency of nutritional supplements/ prescriptions that may cause the body to stink. Infrequency of showers and baths. Medicianal products. The clutter and dust of the house gathering on clothes for many years. Moth balls are commonly used by the elderly. We are baffled why no one else has come up with any theories. We are willing to receive a grant to study this phenomenon. Please contact us with your donations.

Christie32035ParticipantI think it is from not bathing as much. my 94 yo great grandmother smells horrible and I know it’s because she forgets to bathe. She was never one to bathe every day as they did not do that on the farm she grew up on. But now that her memory is bad she forgets how long it’s been since she’s bathed. She also hangs up her dirty clothes along with her clean ones and then forgets which are clean or dirty.
