It’s not a question of “feeling it necessary,” it’s a question of aesthetics and of feeling comfortable.

Aesthetics: Why do some people dye their hair? Why do other people prefer shorts to pants? Some women just prefer how their body looks without that hair hanging under their armpits.

Feeling comfortable: When you don’t have hair under your armpits, you feel less hot in summer, and your armpits don’t smell that bad after a day of hot weather.
