In the US, there are strong tensions between the various sects of Christians. Mention Fred Phelps to most Christian pastors and they’ll say he’s not a *true* Christian. One’s faith is very personal and when that faith is challenged, it can be frightening. No one wants to be forced to follow a faith they do not believe, but that is what is happening in some places among Christians, Muslims and other faiths. It wasn’t too long ago that being a Catholic became legal in England. In the days of the Plymouth colonies in Massachusetts in the 1600/1700s, being a Quaker could be punished by death!
