Rick29865ParticipantOur daughter is friends with a mixed race girl. Her father is black and mother white. My daughter used to sleep over there on occasion. Her friend was never allowed to sleep over here. We didn’t give it much thought until my daughter came home one day and mentioned that her dad wants her friend to date only black boys. The kicker here is, her brother, also mixed, is only allowed to bring home white girls. We saw something very wrong here and had a serious discussion about racism. My daughter does not go down there anymore, but does talk with her friend. I was raking leaves last fall and her father walked up and asked why she doesn’t come around anymore. Not wanting to open that can of worms, I just told him I didn’t know. Should I have told him the truth?
