On many jeans the zipper bunches up and protrudes into a weird-looking lump. Do women know this is the zipper and not the guy’s package?

I think so. There’s also the weird lump with women’s jeans, especially less expensive/not overly fitted ones, and usually no weird lump with ordinary pants. Obvious design flaw.

I think most men wish women would suffer under the delusion that the lump is the man’s penis. I mean, the lump is usually huge compared to the average man’s real flaccid state. Perhaps they hope we don’t know it’s the zipper.
