Augustine23391ParticipantHow can people stand the monotony of sitting in the same break room at work, day after day, talking to the same people, during their lunch hour? I like to go out and get something to eat, run some errands if I need to, or just get out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Sometimes I stop by a flea market, book store, or antique shop. Point is, it breaks the monotony (most jobs are monotonous at least some of the time) and lets me get my head clear for an hour. Yet most people I know don’t do this. (Some of them also eat at their desk, something I avoid unless it’s absolutely necessary.) I enjoy my work — something many people cannot honestly say — yet it’s refreshing to get away from it for an hour each day. Incidentally, most ‘lunch buddies’ talk about business at least some of the time during their break. Eccch!
