JedParticipantSometimes when I’m making a phone call or talking to somebody for the first time, I feel very relaxed by their voice … almost high. I’m wondering what chemicals are released in the brain, and why this may happen. Sometimes I may talk to a telephone solicitor for an hour, feeling very warm and tingly, like a fresh prickly pear.

Marcia22191ParticipantI have almost fallen asleep listening to some people talk, either on the phone or in person! One time I even asked someone if they would ever consider making a tape for me, you know like of them reading a book or something. Too bad no one has responded to your questions about why this may happen, and what occurs in our brain to make us feel this way. I would be very curious to know.

melissaParticipantabout the weird high you get…I almost always welcome the calls from those professional voices because i know i’ll soon be very relaxed like i just took a drug. it’s so weird. makes me think of subliminal messages and stuff and i wonder what really goes on when they call. it’s everytime. i thought i was alone with this.
