To women: do you love your vagina? Or do you view it with contempt? Does your partner honor your vagina?

Unfortunately, mine has grown ugly. In fact, I’d love to know if there’s anything I can do to spiff it up a bit. Childbirth at age 38 really took its toll. It was much more attractive when I was younger – plump, pouty and inviting. Now it’s rather tired and sad-looking, and the hair is sparse.

I’m going to answer in reference to my whole genital area; not just the ‘vagina’. Until I started shaving my pubic hair, including the hair around the labia, my ‘vagina’ was just there, not especially noticeable, except during sex. After I began shaving ‘down there,’ I became much more aware of, fascinated by and respectful of the whole area. Every time I’m on the toilet, I’m aware of and grateful for being a woman.

I love it, in part because the other option is to have a penis … NO way. Also, I love the smell, the texture, the way she fits inside me; it’s a completely self-contained emotion. Does my partner honor it? Yes, I think so. I wouldn’t be with somebody who didn’t.

I’ve never had a bond with this small aspect of my anatomy. However, after I had my daughte, I felt a sense of awe and appreciatation for my vagina. I especially appreciate it when I have an orgasm.

Yes! I LOVE my vagina. I love everything about i, and I can say that my appreciation for my own vagina, as well as other vaginas, was reinforced last year when I was a cast member of Eve Ensler’s play ‘The Vagina Monologues.’ I would hightly encourage every woman either see the play or read the book. Vaginas are way cool.

My ‘gina and I are good buddies, as we have been since age 11, when I first started rubbing her and trying to figure out what she liked. I have been a voracious masturbator since then, and I know my vagina very well – what works, what doesn’t. My partner would build a shrine to mine if he could – he loves her. These are some words he uses to describe her: so warm, wet, tight, like velvet, soft, smooth. He honors her well. I view her with tenderness and love because I know she won’t always be like this – when I get old, when I have kids, she’ll get old, too.
