In recent years there’s been an increase in Muslim violence. Is this out of some desperation or sense of deprivation on the part of Muslims? Is technology the reason? Is there an inability to change? Is it the dominant tribal force in the religion – reasserting itself against faster global changes? I’d like to hear some ideas on this.

you mean the media has been reporting muslim violence more often, so you perceive there is an increase… the media reports what it thinks the public is interested in. anyway, apart from that… I think many palistinian muslims are angry over the lost land because Israel was made after World War 2…

Violence has increased because THe ‘West’ is out to get Islam, their is a sense of ‘Islamophobia’ especially since Sep 11th. Open minded people can learn about Islam and know it is the truth, and ‘Westerners’ cannot stop them. Increasing interest and conversions to Islam has put other on the defensive, thats why thier massacering Muslims around the world. Muslims are fighitng in self defense. Looking at the real reason and not just what the media tells you would show you that. THats the reason.

i’m an egyptian muslim, here in egypt there’s no ‘muslim violence’ as you call it, the normal rate of crime in any country is however ,normally, present ,wether muslims or christians(the 2 main religions in egypt)are their reasons. out of egypt ,the only muslim violence i hear about is actually just retaliation to other acts of discrimination aginst them ,like for example,israeli army is forcing palastinian people to go by israeili rules,is killing them and is demolishing their homes everyday.israeli people are making life immposoble for palastinians like for example the palastinian olive farmers that are being abused and kicked out of their lands and their crops stolen,this is an incident that happened latley and was written in papers ,i personally read it in al-ahram weekly’s english newspaper,so i think that it’s normal for these poor muslims to retaliate!! this is happening all over the world ,why is it that only muslim violence is covered so intensivly and extensivly by media and believed by people while any other group of people wether religious or not don’t recieve this kind of bad publicity and their actions or violence is considered individual and isn’t related to their religion?!
