Just looking for a reality check… I live in what most folks would consider a liberal community. Over the past few years I have dated a handful of men and most of them have not been willing to live together before marriage (often times this is because their family would be devastated). In fact some were more open to rushing into a wedding than cohabitation. I realize that complicated cultural/religious issues have been present in some of my interracial relationships but I still feel like I’m in a Twilight Zone episode when it comes to this subject. Please somebody answer me, are people living together? My older friends (including my boomer-aged parents) think it’s absurd that I keep coming up with such traditional men. I know that the political pendulum shifts but what are the actual stats?
