To those who believe that the Bible is the literal word of God, a few questions: How do you reconcile that with differences in various translations throughout the years? I’ve read, for example, that the whole virgin birth thing stems from an old mistranslation of a Hebrew word for ‘young woman.’ How do you deal with inconsistencies? Do you go as far as to believe, say, that if your brother dies you should marry his wife? Not trying to challenge here, and ‘faith’ is an acceptable answer; I’m just wondering if someone can come up with rational answers…
