I am an American Sign Language student and would like to know how deaf people really feel about hearing people becoming involved in their culture.

I’ve been deaf from birth and do not mind if hearing people becomes involved in the deaf culture, as long as they are not ignorant or treat it as something funny. I know quite a few hearing people who are involved in the deaf culture, and I am also friends with them. I think it’s a great idea to get involved with the deaf culture if you want to, because we could use more friends.

How i feel about hearing becoming involve with deaf people? I think it great that many people hearing or not hearing are involing learning our culture. i dont have a problem with people learing the deaf culture actually i think it great because it make us feel worthy because most deaf aint proud to be deaf. well i am cause hearing pople look to us and they are more humble to other people. but other than that it good to have the hearing people learn our culture and to explore of learing to commuicate with your hand, because i believe all people in the future should learn how to sign to make the world a better place for us(deaf). so hearing people if you are just learning about it please countine to learn cause not all deaf are just disabiltes, we are just like hearing once you get to know us.
