LH28764ParticipantMy boyfriend recently told me that when he was in his early teen years, he sometimes became aroused during a sexual fantasy dream and afterwards he would wake up he would realize that his partner in the dream was another man. He said that happened at that age to some of his friends too. I don’t believe that dreams really mean much for real life, but I find this very odd. My boyfriend is only attracted to females and has only dated females. Do those kinds of dreams indicate anything, or are they just the imagination at work?

Ann L. LowensteinParticipantYoung teens are busy sorting out their sexuality, and will not infrequently “try” something in a dream or fantasy that they would never consider in “real life”. It means exactly as much as a couple girls about the same age playing kissy-face behind the garage, especially in light of the fact he’s never been attracted to men. BadKarma!

ShellyStrauss RollisonParticipantThey’re ways in which the subconscious works out who it is, what it wants in life, etc. The subconscious is experimenting with the body in which it finds itself living this life. It’s exploring and discovering. It’s answering questions that most of us are afraid to even admit we want answered. Questions like, “What would it be like if…?” or “Would I like it if…” Sexual arousal, especially for men, is more a matter of touching the right spots on a physical level. Even for some women this is the case. That’s why so many victims of rape feel ashamed: because they experienced an orgasm while being raped! The body responds to touch even in some cases when the mind is repulsed at the thought. This is especially true for teenage boys who have about 100 times the normal levels of testostero
