Africa is a continent, not country. Many Americans from Africa are NOT black (ex: from Egypt, Libya, Tanzania, Morocco). Many American blacks from Belize, St.Thomas, Jamaica, Trinidad, Haiti and several other countries don’t approve of or use this new label to describe themselves because they don’t consider themselves to be African. Is ‘African American’ an inaccurate, over-generalizing label for black people in America or not?
