Ann L. LowensteinParticipantThe dot isn’t always red, and it’s to symbolize the “third eye”, which is the seat of the soul and wisdom in the Hindu religion. BadKarma!

ShellyStrauss RollisonParticipantThe red dot is a tradition of the Hindu faith, NOT of residents of India. The dot, which was traditionally red but can be any color whatsoever, signifies the third eye, the eye of spirituality that sees into other worlds. The red dot was also a reminder to keep one’s focus on the Divine. Both men and women wear it and it usually has no relationship to someone’s marital status. Love and Light, Rev. Shelly
