Mark BentleyParticipantYes, but let me qualify that. The first time I had anal sex, it hurt, but only because I was scared and tense. I’ve learned to relax and let things happen, so to speak, and the discomfort only lasts a few seconds now.

Priscilla30276ParticipantI haven’t tried anal sex but my general experience of heterosexual sex has been like Mark’s experience of anal sex. So, maybe, there is not as much difference as people think. Yes, I realize there is no natural lubrication, etc. with anal sex, but if you use enough lubricant, I have been told, it won’t hurt.

Jenny30920ParticipantI’ve only done it a handful of times, always with lubrication, and the only time it didn’t hurt is once, when I was really drunk. I think the secret to it not hurting is to totally relax, but I find that impossible, given the situation.

anticsParticipantIt can, if you’re nervous or tightened up. The trick is to bear down like you’re trying to poop (make sure you’ve pooped beforehand so you know you’re cleared out!). This will actually expand the opening as much as possible and allow entry. Keep bearing down until your partner is in, and you’ll find that they’ve slipped in without causing you any pain. And of course, use lube.
