It seems that when a person comes from a mixed background with a black parent or grandparent they are refered to as ‘black’ (Alicia Keyes, Lenny Kravitz, Blu Cantrell, Halle Barre, etc). Why is this? Is there some historical reason? Also, another observation I’ve made is you’re only caucasion if you look 100% white, but you can be refered to as black if you took just slightly dark.
