I am working on 61 years old and I have never been anywhere. The longer I stay where I am, the more broke and miserable I become. I hear about people who go and live in other countries because it is cheaper. Maybe that’s what I should do, too. I can’t decide where to go. Like I said–I have never been anywhere. This is my situation: 1)I am a white guy 2)I am a U.S. citizen 3)I speak English 4)My total net income is $2,500 a month. I would like to live near the sea. I would like to live in a country that I can feel safe in. I would like to live in a country that spoke Spanish or Portugese. I think I could make myself understood in these languages if I had to, and I believe that I could also learn these languages if was immersed in them. Does anybody have any ideas where I might go and live the rest of my old life?

Get out of the People’s Republic of California, and move to the South. You’ll find you can live quite comfortably on that net income down there. Life’s a banquet and most poor bastards are starving to death!

Has it ever occurred to you that it’s a lack of education and not geography that’s been holding you back? Night courses at a college might improve your bottom line to where you have more options in life.
