DuaneParticipantWhy does it seem that so many people of the black race are so engulfed with their history? Don’t get me wrong, I think it is cool, but couldn’t some of that energy be used to make a more positive impression on the rest of society?

JohnParticipantI understand why African Americans are pursuing their heritage and history, I just don’t understand why they feel the need to invent things that just aren’t true. The Sphinx and Pyramids were built by Egyptians (Middle Easterners), not Africans. You will not find any credible historians who dispute this fact, yet African Americans continue to claim their ancestors built the pyramids. There was also a black school teacher in Minnesota a few years ago who was teaching her students that there used to be a race of Africans with wings. She claimed they could actually fly. She also told these children that this race of people was wiped out when the white man came to Africa. Why invent history when black people have so much to be proud of in their true history?
