Something that I’ve never understood about Christianity and Christians is how can you believe that God is a good being if he is willing to subject anyone, for any reason, to eternal suffering in hell? Certainly, people do do bad things, and yes, their should be a negative concequence for these actions, but why does the punishment have to be the maximum punishment ever possible? Does it not wear on your souls that when you go to heaven, people you knew in life will be suffering for billions of years (just a small portion of eternity) for mistakes they made here on earth?
