MikeParticipantI am a white male trying to understand the way things are impropper or ignorant for one group or race to say but not another. Why is it acceptable for a Black or Latino to use a specific word or group of words and it is not offensive, yet if a White person uses it, it is wrong or racist? Is it not ignorance and degrading regardless of who uses it? The N word means IGNORANT does it not? Does this not make all that use it racist and ignorant? I am also unclear as to why todays problems have to resort back to the days of slavery and racism. I was not here, I was not a part of it, yet today it is still thrown in my face and others. My ancestors are from Italy and Poland. Were they not segregated and treated as garbage? To this day many things are said about Italians and Pollacks. Do I go and blame a certain group or race of people for my troubles? I do believe that there are forms of racism, but I also believe that if you want something bad enough you can find a way to achieve it. I am not here to judge anyone and don’t want to be judged myself. I just wish I could close my eyes, make a wish, and make all the pain go away.
