To Christians – I am confused on the logic of Jesus’s death on the cross absolving mankind’s sins. If God ‘gave his only begotten son’ up on the cross why does his death and return to Heaven represent anything other than returning him to where he belongs. It would seem to me that for God to have ‘given’ something, Jesus would have had to stay on Earth.
