Cheryl32335ParticipantAt the ER where I work, there are two doctors who are totally arrogant. I’ve worked there for over 20 years, and well know what is needed. Most of the doctors are easy going, if a heart attack patient comes in, an experienced nurse will call for labs before the doctor even orders them. The two doctors in question demand total control, seeming to wait until a nurse is busy with another patient, then calls her away to order what she wanted to order in the first place. One of these doctors told me in no uncertain terms, that HE was calling the shots and to just ‘Do your little job, and let me do the important things.’ This was done in front of co-workers. At other times, the two have observed having hissy fits, throwing charts, wadding up EKGs and generally being foul mannered and hateful. My theory is this. The doctors in question are nerdish and definately not ‘hunks’. I figure growing up, they were the ones that were in the receiving end of spitballs and tauntings. Now is payback time. Do any doctors out there have anything to say about this?
