Rick29911ParticipantI do get a little tired of the stereotype that gay men hate women, especially when MOST gay men LOVE women. I assumed the stereotype grew out of sheer ignorance — until a couple of my gay friends admitted that they didn’t like women or feel comfortable around them. I was a little shocked, since I consider my friendships with straight women to be the deepest and strongest I’ve ever had. (Hey, there’s no sexual tension or competition involved.) As to my two gay friends, it seems that they withdrew from women early on (one had a bad relationship with his mother and the other plunged headfirst into the ‘gay ghetto’ and never looked back.) They never gave women a chance. But on the bright side, I’ve rarely encountered a gay man who doesn’t like women — unless you invade their sexual turf, like a gay pick-up bar or private party. (Could you have been interrupting something at your gay friend’s house? Hmmmm.)

Gregory GrondinMemberI tend to really enjoy the company of women, because for the most part they seem more open and accepting. While this may not be entirely true straight women seem less intimidating than straight men. It’s prettys safe to say that gay men don’t hate women.
