As a white man, I am somewhat offended when blacks make reference that whites were responsible for slavery. When I read history, my interpretation is that the white man freed them from bondage, and hundreds of thousands of whites died for their freedom. Even in the south, most whites found the practice of slavery reprehensible. Is my view biased? Also, since blacks are horribly offended by this part of history, why aren’t they fighting to end the slavery practice in Africa that still exists?
