I am a registered nurse (male, caucasian), as is my supervisor (female, African-American). We have worked together for over a year. Last week, in the public forum of our office, I asked her a simple question regarding the staffing in our small clinic and she replied to me ‘Are you in the Klan?’ I was shocked by this. We have had a fairly good working relationship before this, now I no longer want to work under her. Anyone with any comments on how I should handle this?
