Could someone explain more clearly why Muslims and Christians/Catholics can pray in synogogues, but Jews shouldn’t pray in churches?

I never heard of a Christian or Muslim wanting to pray in a synogogue, and I don’t know why one would want to. As for a Jew praying, the sages said prayers should be said only in a place where one expects to be free from any interruption or distraction; G-d deserves our entire undiverted attention.

Apart from the historical hostility of Christian and Muslim organizations toward Judaism, it seems to me that a Jew could not adequately concentrate on his prayers in a facility dedicated to a contradictory religion. This is especially so if the church is (as most seem to be) full of religious objects (tapestries, altars, images, paintings, etc) that are unsuitable for Jews.

For a Jew to pray in a Christian service gives legitamacy to the Christian claim that Jesus is God. Christians who visit our synagogue can pray because their faith is founded on ours, and would not be contradicted. Many small Jewish congregations rent churches for their services, and pray freely during the Jewish services held there. It’s not so much the building, but the message being presented that makes prayer inappropriate during a Christian service
