Amon-RParticipantI am curious about the origins of the different so-called ‘races.’. If the ‘Out of Africa’ hypothesis is correct, where do non-blacks come from? My own guess is that Caucasians are descended from inter-mating albinos of black people, and yellow people are the children of blacks and black albinos (whites). Has anyone heard of similar thinking? If so, can you suggest references for study?

NicoleParticipantThis is an interesting hypothesis that isn’t too much different from one regarding the fate of Homo Sapiens Neandertalenis (Neanderthal man, a hominid species that developed from Europe). It is supposed that Homo Sapiens Sapiens may have interbred with Homo Sapiens Neandertalenis until the genetically superior species took over. Extinction by absorbion. Perhaps light skin and hair are leftover genetic traits of this interbreeding, and Asian features are the result of interbreeding with the indigenous early hominids of Asia. Just a hypothesis. To the best of my knowledge, no evidence of a hybrid has been discovered.

Mike-NParticipantThere are different skin colors because in an area with less sunlight, a dark-skinned person will get a disease called Rickets, which causes the bones to deteriorate. It can get so bad that the bones break at the smallest little impact. This is due to the fact that the skin produces Vitamin D. Before the days of modern vitamins, this was one of the only ways to get Vitamin D. A light-skinned person in such an area does not have this problem. Also, light-skinned people will get skin cancer in an area with strong sunshine.

MaryParticipanttake the most blonde blue-eyed person you know, stick them in africa for 10,000 years and they will be black. take the darkest skin, hair, eyed person you know and put them in scandinavia for 10,000 years and they will be blonde and blue eyed. it’s evolution, not inbreeding.

OlaoluParticipantConcerning the question and not the response, I am an albino and i know for a fact that African albino, such as myself, who mate with any race’s offspring will still possess the African qualities within them. Meaning, if an albino were tomate with an African woman, she would produce children with melanin and so on and so forth.
