Dan27138Participant1) Many Boulderites seem to hold forth extensively about the outdoors activities they participate in — rock climbing, ‘treks’ through Patagonia or Nepal, skiing double black diamond slopes, and so on. They lead lives that seems straight off the pages of Outside magazine. So, do these people work? When? Where do they get the money for walkabouts in the Australian outback and weekly heli-skiing trips?
2) I’ve _never_ seen a ‘Free Tibet’ bumper sticker until I moved to Colorado. When I’m up in Boulder, it seems like there is a disproportionately large number of people in the area who are _very_ much into the Tibetan liberation ‘thing.’ Thousands of cars have ‘Free Tibet’ stickers, the city has several Tibetan restaurants, and there’s many stores in the city that specialize in Tibetan products. (On google.com, I found 110 matches for ‘Boulder’ and ‘Free Tibet,’ but just three for ‘Fort Collins’ and ‘Free Tibet,’ and none for ‘Greeley’ and ‘Free Tibet.’) Why are Boulderites, as opposed to those living in areas, so fascinated with the Tibetan liberation movement?
3) Why is there a disproportionately large number of Subarus on the road in Boulder?User Detail :
