I repeatedly hear parents say, ‘I want my child to have the best.’ To me, this statement sets the stage for raising an irresponsible child. Its what IS NOT said that doesn’t make sense. They dont say, I want my child to earn the best, work for the best, achieve the best; its ‘I want them to HAVE the best.’ Do mothers and fathers feel they are considered inadequate as parents if they dont say this two-edged statement?
