I have a question about society’s eagerness to always have an answer. When will we stop blaming others and look upon ourselves as the problem, instead of blaming Eminem, or Marilyn Manson, or video games?

When will people stop blaming everyone but themselves? (1) Blaming anyone does not solve the problem. Even if it is my fault that abc happened, I need to do something about it, not just blame myself. (2) To blame society is a cop out. ‘It is society’s fault’ means that I belong to the society, and I don’t want to take the blame. So it is their fault. Blame does not fix things. Taking responsibility and action does. Is there a drug problem? I need to do what I can to meet the needs of the kids in the community. Is there homelessness? I need to reach out to the homeless in love. No, I personally can’t solve all the problems. But if everyone took a small piece of the ‘problem’ then we can, by God’s grace, reach out in love.
