A seasoned reader and poster on this forum, I notice so many questions, comments, and complaints by black women about white women stealing their men. I do understand the point to some extent, but on the other hand, I find it annoying. In the year 2002, a black woman should not feel obligated to date a black man. If she can’t find a black man she’s looking for, why not try white, Asian, hispanic, or Arab/Middle-Eastern? I mean, I don’t know why black women keep thinking that everyone wants the stick thin blond-haired blue-eyed white woman that swarms the media. I have had men of all races attracted to me — even groups that have more tensions with blacks (such as Asians). And I can assure anyone I am 100% African American, from the ‘big booty’, brown skin, to the kinky hair; I embody the looks of an average black woman. I think black women need to be more open-minded to their dating choices. They should stop feeling that dating a nonblack is betrayal, especially when the men they are trying to be loyal to are running over to white women. They should also realize that they can be sexually satisfied by nonblack men. I mean, dating nonblack men can pose a unique set of issues, but dating black men can have issues to. My thing is I think they should expand their dating pool to give them more choices, so they don’t feel they should have to ‘settle’.
