Sherry B .ParticipantDo people think that because someone is bisexual they must choose to be with one partner, either male or female?

Lucy-H22648ParticipantThe same ‘rules’ apply to bisexuals as to hetero- and homosexuals. Bisexuals just have more choices. Being bisexual just means that a person is attracted to both genders. Just because someone is bisexual, it doesn’t mean that they don’t need love, caring, and long term companionship like other people. Some people choose to commit to one person, others do not, regardless of sexual orientation.

Myra-HParticipantAre you asking whether you should be monogamous? If that’s the question, the answer is “it’s up to you and your partners.” However, my belief is that one’s sexual orientation has no bearing on one’s sexual behavior. As gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgender people, we feel forced to redefine moral codes, since “traditional” rituals and codes don’t apply to us. But that doesn’t mean we should redefine responsible actions and restrictions. If you want to be non-monogamous, go ahead; if you want to be in a committed relationship, then do that. Just be honest: Bisexuality is not a license for irresponsibility.
