Anne23868Participantjust my opinion from babysitting but small children can have the strongest wills–try getting a three or four year old to do something they dont want to do sometime and you’ll see why the parents pick their battles

Leslie22902ParticipantI find it interesting that almost all of the respondents—who overwhelmingly appear to be in favor of ‘public barefootedness’—are white. This is one example of behavior that is, to a large degree, culturally and racially specific. Most black folks, of all class backgrounds, find it unacceptable and repugnant to go barefoot in the street.

GaryMemberWhat is the big deal? 20-30 years ago no one would even have noticed barefoot kids at the ice cream stand, supermarket or anywhere else. Who cares if someone goes barefoot by choice? You can go barefoot and still not look like a slob or a refugee. People do it all the time here and in New Zealand and other places. Why is this even a debate????
