My apologies if this has already been asked. I am a police officer, and I work in several areas, many good and bad, and bad neighborhoods which cover all demographics. My question is two-fold. First, why is it that minorities group together in neighborhoods as opposed to just living diversely? On the same note, why is it that the terms ‘black neighborhood’ and ‘bad neighborhood’ are synonymous (also rich/white neighborhood), and that is accepted, both in society and even in this forum? I live in a relatively new area with plenty of diversity, and its fine here. I have my own socio-economic opinions- I’m interested in what other people think.
