Scientists believe that racial characteristics developed as a ‘protection’ from the elements of a group’s original habitat. For instance, they say that the almond-shape of the eyes of Asian people develop as protection from blowing sand. The hair on their head also serves as warmth from very cold weather. Why though do they have so little body hair? What advantage does this serve in their original habitats? And also, do Asian people have fewer sweat glands than whites or blacks (as they seem to have less body odor than other groups)?
