How often is pubic hair color the same as head hair color? Do red-haired people always have red pubic hair, and blond-haired people always have blond pubic hair?

From my experience, pubic hair usually seems to be a few shades darker than the hair on the head. I have reddish-blonde hair, but my pubic hair is definitely dark brown. On the other hand, my husband has dark brown hair, but a red beard and pubic hair.

In my experience as both a nurse and redhead … the collars and cuffs always match (assuming one is not bald … and even then you can never tell these days!)

Head hair and body hair are often different things. Body hair is more similar all around. Red head hair does not guarantee red pubes, but red eyebrows, arm hair, etc etc, almost always does. The density and texture are often the same too.

I am a redhead and have two friends who are such, and this is my consensus: one has brown pubic hair, one has blonde, and mine is red. So it can be virtually anything. Additionally, I don’t think there’s any way you can tell. My friend who has blonde pubic hair comes from a totally red-headed family and her hair is the exact shade of mine; I am one of two redheads out of eight family members (no strawberry blondes, either), and have red pubic hair. Luck of the draw?
