I am attending a multicultural education class in preparation for teaching. I need information on the Arab American culture so that I can incorporate it into a classroom. Can anyone offer information?

Check the reference section of either the university you are attending or the public library. You will find some excellent reference titles published by the Gale Group. One of our imprints is the UXL line. It is geared for middle and high school titles, but they are incredibly popular in public libraries because the language is accessible. The Gale Group is highly respected for its Multi-cultural titles. For Arab-Americans we publish Arab-American Biographies and Arab-American Voices. There is an entire reference library line devoted to this group. For instance did you know the radio personality Kasey Kasum (hope I spelled his name correctly) and actress Kristy McNichol are of Arab descent? The largest population of Arab-Americans also lives in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Use the Encyclopedia of Associations for Arab-American associations in our area. There are other Gale titles you can reference including The Gale Encyclopedia of Multi-Cultural America and the Worldmark Encyclopedia of Cultures and Daily Life.
