An aussie asks: why are americans weird?

    Americans (this is a doozy) : When you are abroad I perceive you act as if you are superior because your country is almost as powerful as the European Union, and because you talk a lot about how great America is, and because I feel you treat Australian’s as country cousins. Americans I meet seem to be a little neurotic; it’s as if the USA is a mental whirlpool that sucks their attention and kind of makes them crazy… I’m sorry I can’t quantify the difference any better. Can anyone at all help me understand what it is about Americans that is at once so exciting and irritating to Australians?
