I know I am not the only one that goes through major depression. But I admit that I have a problem. I am a cutter and I have been hurting myself like this since I was 8 years. No it’s not for attention because if that was the case I wouldn’t be so private about it. It started out as minor things. Pinching myself until I bruised. But now I cut my arms and thighs with razors, knives, broken glass or whatever is sharp enough to break the skin. I don’t care whether it is sharp or dull, I just do it. And I don’t feel any physical pain during or after. But I want to stop before I take it too far. Are there any alternatives in regards to depression? Please help me.

Depression effects many people in different ways. I think for you you just need to talk to someone and let someone know what exactly is wrong so they can help. I don’t call myself a psychiatrist or anything but I have helped a lot of people who are dear to me get through hard times. So if you just don’t want to talk to someone who might judge you feel free to email me at stickedy@hotmail.com I can give you my IM or whatever. Anything I can do to help I will. Life is in knowledge.

YOu need to get professional help. I have a long history of depression and the right medications help a lot. I am low income, but found a clinic that takes poor people. Do whatever it takes to get help. If you’ve been hiding this from your parent(s), you need to tell them and ask for help. If they don’t agree, go to a school counselor. This is not going to go away by itself. It’ll get worse if you don’t act. Is there any alcoholism in your family? If so, Al-Ateen, a free support group could help a lot. Just Curious
