The whole concept of ‘Black’ should be based on whether an indiviudal is very noticeably ‘black’ – a quadroon, such as Alexandre Dumas was only a quarter black, granted he had crinkly hair and a slight tan, but he could never be termed ‘black’, neither could that very sexy actress Hally Berry be termed as black, or even Tolstoy, who had undeniably african features but was not ‘black’- he did, however, have african ancestry. Could one term them half-caste? No, that’s impolitically correct. Interesting? No, that’s also impolitically correct and supercilious.
