I don’t think you should generalize all black people based on what one of your friends do. The amount of shoes a person buys is a personal desire it has nothing to do with what color their skin is. I think thats a status thing..not a color thing..

Do we buy lots of shoes? I didn’t think it was a phenomenon associated only with black folks. If you’ve ever seen Sex and the City, this becomes even more apparent. Although, I am black and I do have more pairs of shoes than I know what to do with. Maybe you can say that women buy more shoes than men do, more than we need oftentimes. I don’t think it’s a black thing, though, because there are plenty of white people buying shoes too.

No offence Victor, but that is such an odd question! I would think a guy would want to know why women buy so many shoes. But then that would be under a whole different category wouldn’t it? Personally I have over 100 pair of shoes, but it is not my ethnicity that compels me to buy so many. It is because I LOVE shoes!!! I have shoes for all different occasions and then of course I have back-up shoes in case the ones I thought would go well with an outfit don’t! Ask any woman of any race who can afford them why she has so many pairs of shoes and chances are she will give you the same answer as I have. It’d be like asking why do white men play golf so much. Their answer would likely be “because I can”!

for the same reason most white people and most hispanic people have a lot of shoes. they like to look fly so they have different colored shoes for every outfit.
