Hi: Your first paragraph makes a lot of sense (except for blacks not being able to meet in large groups–they do that all the time), but then you go a little off kilter. Sure, there have been racist books by white authors, but they aren’t celebrated by whites the way Terry MacMillan’s books are by blacks. When she served on a literary awards committee once she announced she would only vote for a black author, without even knowing the nominees yet, an act of pure racism. The holidays you mention are not ‘white’ holidays. They are inclusive of everyone (as is MLK, Jr. Day).
